COMMUNITY PROJECTS

RKE (Rialto/Kiowa/Esquire) Historical Renovation Project

The historic renovation of the RKE (Rialto/Kiowa/Esquire) Theater will promote Unity in the Community,  inspire generations to connect, honor the past, and embrace the future by reintroducing the values of faith, family, and freedom.

The historic RKE Theater will be a multi-functional building for movies, concerts, recitals and other community events.

Songs for Seniors

Kris uses his life experiences to relate to his audience. He enjoys talking about becoming more than a conqueror, especially when the odds are against you. He shares his story to encourage others not to quit regardless of their challenges, because God has the final say. He always tells them, “Don’t get dead before you die.”

“ We are truly in awe of the passion behind your Hometown Legends event that was such an amazing way to bless so many families.”  -Kody Suanny,  Great Plain Youth & Family Services

At the age of 12, Kris was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and told that he wouldn’t live past 17. Although he has faced many challenges, this prophecy turned out to be wrong. (He’s over 60!) Kris shares a message of hope with others facing incredible challenges.

Kris was an inspiration to all who attended the Great Strides walk in Lawton.  Especially to those that also deal with the daily challenges cf.

Valuing Veterans

Our Veterans unselfishly sacrificed to protect us and the freedoms we sometimes take for granted. Many of them face physical and emotional challenges. KHL is committed to bringing them hope with songs, stories and laughter. It is our privilege to do shows in each Veterans Center in Oklahoma.

Our Veterans love it when Kris comes and sings. And our staff loves it too.”

ENCOURAGING ENTERTAINMENT

Clothes 4 Kids

“I can remember climbing into a charity donation bin at night to try to find some jeans to wear to school.” In 2024, Kris’ Hometown Legends partnered with Great Plains Youth & Family Services and to provide new school clothes, so no area students need to dumpster dive for school clothes.
